A New Start, New Friends, New Job

After months in the doldrums followed by a headlong plumet to the bottom of the sea, I am determined to finally refloat this blog ...
2013 was a bad year, but 2014 is shaping up a lot better (touch wood!)  After the loss of our beloved dog, Tom, last September, we now have a new little chap about the place called Merlin (pics coming soon).  He and Leyla are the best of friends, and together they have cheered us up no end!
Another newcomer to the happy home is Taffy - as you can see, he gets on great with Cadno - and he also brings a definite sparkle to Milly's eye.

Writing-wise, I've been fortunate enough to have another story published recently by Woman's Weekly (Family Ties, May 2014 Fiction Special) and I've just finished editing my novel, Landoobrey Daze, a comic caper set in the wilds of West Wales ... a bit like my own life, now I come to think of it ...
I also now have a part time job for the summer - I am a tour guide in the National Trust Dolaucothi Goldmines, just a few miles up the road from me.  It's an absolute treat to go to work in these historic mines, sharing stories going right back to Roman times with lovely groups of holiday makers and visitors.  I also have a very glamorous uniform and a hat to die for ...

All of which is well enough about me ... I'll be calling on all the blogs I follow very soon to see what everyone else is up to - hope you are all well, thanks for reading, if you have, and hope to see you soon :-)
